“Home” in the Berkshires
This summer the Berkshire Historical Society will offer a variety of exhibits in celebration of the Berkshires as “Home”. Ranging in time from 1863 to the early 20th century, the exhibits will explore the themes of place, leave-taking and home coming.

“Home City: Photographs of Pittsfield
Join us from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. on Sunday, June 2, 2013 to celebrate the opening of an important Historical Society exhibit. Edwin Hale Lincoln was a Gilded Age phtographer whose works in Berkshire County included Gilded Age homes of the wealthy, Pittsfield streetscapes and abundant images of nature. His book on the wildflowers of New England took decades to complete. In Home City, curator Alfred De Maio has chosen streetscapes and natural scenes of Pittsfield to reflect on both Lincoln’s skill and his eye for beauty.

Thursday May 23, 2013, Join David Neill and Dixieland Stomp as they present “The Life, Times and Music of Louie Armstrong”, a concert and lecture about Armstrong and his novel music. The concert will held in the barn at Arrowhead, beginning at 7:00 p.m., is free and open to the public.
